I need this especially at this time. My Mom died 3 weeks ago, and all the work she did to prevent conflict following her death was undone by the personal representative of the estate (her own sister, whom I trusted), who immediately began hounding and badmouthing two of the heirs, me being one of them, and she's working for her own personal interests and taking the side of one of the heirs against the other 2, instead of meditating differences. Mom isn't even laid to rest because we can't claim the cremains until her sister pays the funeral home, and she refuses to use the life insurance policy for that because she's keeping it all to herself. Please pray for us that Jesus will calm the storm in our lives.

Slowly going through this series and it’s been soooo good!!! This is a beautiful episode for someone who struggles with scrupulosity. I feel like this conversation digs deeper into the rigidity of one’s heart. Praise the Lord Jesus for the wisdom in this discussion!!

On Final Topic: I think this is a great example of being in the world, not of the world. I don’t think that those of us who are both trying to follow the directives of the Beatitudes and the Laws of Moses fit into a cultural box. Many fellow Catholics find my ideas about inclusion of those on the margins to be too liberal. Many liberals find my adherence to traditional values to be “crazy, restrictive Catholic morality.” As for me and my house, we attempt to follow the Lord, sinner that I am.

It would be helpful to talk about spreading ashes

I just want to say for y'all, as someone who has lived in the world of people who don't share the same mindset, had children, and grandchildren, that the toilet seat issue IS a real issue every single place I go. I'm the only woman I know who doesn't think men should be responsible for putting it down every time. lol! Seriously, I've seen so many marital squabbles over that and the "which direction do you hang the toilet paper to roll out?" It's weird but it is also a major issue in the world, which I think is weird cause theirs so much more important. Now, that I got that out of the way, thank you for your candid podcasts! Jesus knows we are all real people and this is totally not what I expected of friars, but am blessed to see the real you(s)!
